CUSTOM PARTITION DOORS
Due to the long and narrow shape of this apartment, guests had to cross the bedroom in order to reach the living/dining room areas. The client was unhappy with this arrangement and requested a solution that would provide privacy. As per NYC law. this “bedroom” could not be fully enclosed as it lacked windows. With this in mind, a custom designed partition was fabricated, that allowed air to circulate at the top, even when fully closed. The door frames were made with off the shelf aluminum angles and channels for the upper and lower rails. All components were precision machined mostly in aluminum with a clear anodize finish. A few stainless steel supports for the upper rail and nylon rollers were also precision machined. Translucent mat acrylic was chosen to conceal the room, allowing light to filter through.
